What we look for before we rebuild a site

A rebuild is expensive in attention, not only in budget. Before we recommend one, we look at whether the current site fails because of structure, or because of neglect.

Structure problems show up as pages that cannot be found, stories that contradict each other, and a navigation that grew by addition. Those are reasons to start again.

Neglect looks different. Slow pages, stale case studies, and a type system that drifted. Those can often be repaired without throwing the architecture away.

When a rebuild is the right call, we still keep what already works. URLs, proof, and the sentences customers already repeat back. New does not have to mean unrecognizable.
